Questioned Document Examination Training

Board-Certified Training

Beverley East has been training students in the field of questioned documents examination since 2006.

Government agencies, financial institutions, and individuals have participated in her two-day interactive document examination training workshops. During the pandemic, we spread our wings to other Caribbean financial institutions who were able to join us virtually from seven different islands.

In 2010 Ms. East was retained by the Jamaican Constabulary Force in to conduct a two-year training program. This was the first law enforcement group she trained. They graduated in 2012.

Ms. East designed this document examination training programming to assist those who wish to become proficient document examiners. The two-year training course has gone from strength to strength and in 2020 it was approved by the board of the International Association of Document Examiners (IADE).

This course is a combination of theory old and new.

  • Coursework is supplemented by Ms. East’s book, Whose Signature is it Anyway? The Complexities of Caribbean Fraud.
  • Other reference books authored by Albert S. Osborn and Reed Hayes
  • Practical case studies in document examination, class interaction, and homework
  • At the end of the training students will sit an exam and be certified through International Association of Document Examiners (IADE).

Ms. East’s document examination training sessions are like no other. Jam packed with lots of interaction, the two-day sessions begin with the statement, “You won’t believe you are in a seminar for two days.”

The things Ms. East most loves about the training are the interaction, the endless questions, and the enthusiasm. From each session she learns something new. She plays music, shares war stories of personal document fraud cases and so much more.

Active in Board Certification

In 2021 Ms. East was nominated as Vice President of International Association of Document Examiners (IADE). She says: “It’s an honor to be a part of an outstanding organization.” Ms. East was appointed to the Board as Ethics Chair in 2017.

She served twice as the Conference Chair of the IADE annual conference, organizing the event that brought document examiners to the island of Jamaica for the first time in 2015 and again in 2019.

As Vice President, she plans to enhance the profile of the organization globally, strengthen ties with current members, and gather more members. It is her intention to host an annual conference for document examiners in London England, along the Thames, walking distance from her London office.
